Excellence A: Nyon vs Hermance
A story of two halves
It was a nail-biter in Nyon as the home side claimed their first win of the season, edging Hermance 25–24 in a dramatic finish.
The opening half belonged to Hermance, whose larger and more experienced pack dominated the set piece and controlled possession. Nyon struggled to find rhythm, spending long stretches defending against a powerful forward onslaught.
But the second half told a different story. As Hermance began to tire, Nyon’s fitness and youthful energy off the bench turned the tide. The pace quickened, the ball moved wider, and the home side began to stretch the Hermance defence.
With the clock winding down, Nyon launched one final attack — a well-worked team try capped off by a crucial conversion to seal a thrilling one-point victory.
A gutsy comeback, a deserved result, and a statement of intent: the first win of the season — and plenty more to come. Believe!
