With one week to go until the Swiss rugby finals day the U16 and U19 finals were still to play and nothing is certain when it comes to knockout rugby. It’s all or nothing on the day.
So with 15mins to go before kickoff someone notice there was going to be a problem with both teams clashing in blue and red kits. As the away team Ecole Rugby Lausanne (an entente) had to reverse their shirts and play in white. This however turned out to be a boost for them. It caught Nyon sleeping in the first 10 minutes as they quickly got off the mark and made Nyon chase the game from minute two.

Despite some good possession by Nyon, ERL continued to pressure at the break down stealing ball and gaining penalties where Nyon were slow to support the ball carrier.
In the end the scoreline told and ERL pushed further ahead to win the game.
There was much discussion afterwards and disappointment as a number of Nyon players were with the Swiss team for a tournament. The question of would they have made a difference came to pass, maybe? We will never know. What we do know is those players missing were watching the score from afar supporting their club.
Last home game of the season from me….
