With the Nyon already in the final of the Swiss cup, it was semi final time in the FSR cup for Nyon 2XV vs Stade Lausanne at their ground.
The game started like a game of chess with both sides exchanging penalties before Nyon broke the seal with a break on the wing to score the first try of the match. This seemed to spur Nyon on as they went over again to head into the second half in a good position in the game.

However the second half didn’t play out as the first and unfortunately. With both sides scoring tries and Stade coming back into the game with Nyon 1 point in front, 23 – 24, a penalty went Nyon’s way, Alex stepped up and calmly slot the 3 points leaving Lausanne needing a try or more to win.
Lausanne turned up the heat and stopped kicking the ball away which had been leaving their coaches with their heads wondering what they had to say to spur on their team.

Following a poor tackle that sparked players into a frenzy of ‘handbags flying’, both sides were shown a red card by the referee. Stade regrouped and given a stern talking too, huddle around a frustrated player screaming to put it into the game.
Their play changed for the better and Nyon instead of switching on switched off in the last 10 minutes.
Stade took charge and the coaches heads that had hung low in desperation were lifted and the winning try came not once but twice in succession before the final whistle.
