Round 2 of the Rugby Europe Championship kicked off in Yverdon with Switzerland at home and looking for an improvement on the previous week. Expecting a big crowd with a tough game against Spain, who were looking to qualify for the Rugby World Cup 2027.
The atmosphere was great and the rugby didn’t disapoint with Switzerland making it a tough game for Spain who in the end won 13 -43 qualifying for RWC27

Well the weekend feels its still in progress here as I run through all 3000 plus images which is almost 1 for every on of the 3800 people present at the game! Yes, it is easy to take so many images these days compared to film and with the cost so much less with developing!
However, the game finishes and the work continues checking what wasn’t highlighted during the game. Tweeking the images to make the players standout and tell the story of the game.

During the game what you don’t realise when your sipping your cold drink of choice, at each stage of the match day images have to be processed and uploaded to Rugby Europe for them to use throughout the day and indeed match. From team interview and coin toss to pre-match practice and team images. Then again at half time and on full time. So when you ask can I see the images spare a little thought for the photographer unless he/she is working for a large organisation and sending the images down the wire for an editor. It will take a little longer than an hour or two.
I will say a BIG thank you for the helpers that kept me supplied with coffee and snacks out back and for my newly acquired Swiss cap, many thanks to you all. More on the how another time. Here are the images for enjoyment, all money goes back into taking more.
See you in Amsterdam next weekend.
