With the Nyonnais side going 0 – 1 down early in the first half this match had me thinking are we going to see another under par performance after the up beat Cup game verse FC Basel ?
What ever was said at half time seemed to have worked as the second half went under way, however luck fell on FC Aarau as they went 0 – 2 up and the skies darkened. The Nyonnais responded and battled harder and were soon rewarded with a goal to be back in the game with 25 minutes to go, so plenty of time, 1 – 2.
Then twice in the space of 5 minutes they hit the upright and the ball ricocheted into the path of a defending Aarau player to clear. They kept coming and forced a great save by the Aarau keeper.
Alas it was not to be this week but it was a valiant second half effort that nearly came off.
